Fathers are known to be hard to shop for, and every year it seems to get harder, so instead of a gift idea, we have made up a list of a few Winnipeg activities to spend the day celebrating your dad.
Picnic at Assiniboine Park
Pack up his favourite meal and take it to the park, bring a Frisbee or a ball to toss around, spend time at the play park, or take the family to the zoo!
Camping at Birds Hill Park
Take the whole weekend to celebrate, pack up some camping supplies and rent a site at Bird’s Hill park
On Sunday, take your father out to enjoy a tribute to David Bowie, by Seu Jorge. Purchase tickets at https://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/1100528AB6359791/?bba=1.
The annual Manitoba Marathon is always on Father’s Day weekend, so why not start a new tradition participating in it. Start with the 5k fun run, or the 10k walk, register the whole family and enjoy quality time together.
Winnipeg Gold Eyes
Take your dad out to a ball game, Winnipeg Gold Eyes are playing on Father’s day against St. Paul. After the game, the Gold Eye’s Stadium welcomes you to bring your dad down to the field to play catch.
We hope you take time to appreciate your fathers this coming weekend, let us know what special things you do for your dads below in the comments!
