Social Media

If you haven’t been living under a rock recently you have probably heard of words like Twitter, Facebook, Linked in, Blogging, Twittering, Tweets, “Instagram” and as I am over the age of 25, that is where my knowledge stops! Like me, you may not know what they all are and what they do.  Each of these are a new way to communicate through the magic of the world wide web.  There are so many ways for us to communicate and reach out to friends, strangers, family and clients and potential clients.  With any form of communication it is important to remember your audience, your image and your message.

  • Speak to your audience – use words and language that make sense and is appropriate.
  • Present yourself, your company your message in the way you want others to perceive you. Check spelling mistakes, grammar, tone.  Remember that there is no emotion in the typed word. Don’t expect all your readers to understand what might be a joke or sarcasm.
  • Make your message Clear – Say what you want your reader to hear.  Like any relationship say what you mean and mean what you say.

The modern technology is out there.  There are so many great opportunities.  The great advantage of reaching more people, may ben your down fall if the content you present isn’t clear, correct or reaching your intended audience.

I welcome any comments or emails,
