This September 15th the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction (CISC) will be hosting SteelDay 2017. This is an annual and Nation-wide event that allows members of the steel community to connect with each other, while also inviting anyone interested in the contribution of structural steel and the impact it is having on building Canada.
Companies across the Country will be hosting individual tours of their company. You can find tours in your city and sign up for them here. These tours are open to anyone, but need to be registered in advance for. The tours are designed uniquely to each company, but with the overall intention to show the public the importance steel has within Canadian manufacturing and construction today. There will be six different types of facility tours; Structural Steel Fabricators, Steel Mills, Steel Service Centres, HSS Producers, Bender-Rollers, and Galvanizers. These event types are summarized on the SteelDay website here. The summaries can give you an idea of what to expect at each tour, but individual companies will also have descriptions for what to expect at their tours, which can be found when signing up for a specific tour.
If you want to know more about SteelDay and the opportunities and events being hosted for it, you can go to their website here. Events and details of tours are continuously being updated and can be accessed on their website as well. We hope to see you all there!
